Crammerock ~ 2 September 2011

The journey started early, My Dominion came to fetch me at 10h00 on a sunny beautiful day & we travelled down to Belgium. Got there around lunch time and helped getting tent set up for him & us trying to figure out where everything was regarding to the festival area. It was hot by this time and on one of our walks bumped into emma. Then went into town and did a bit of sightseeing & stopped at a pub for a drink. Back to the festival & met up with _emma_ &Andrew S, got wristbands & after a two minute wait they opened the festival terrain. We were walking around to see what the drinks were & the food. The merch stand hadn’t been set up at the moment so that would come later.

_emma_ found us a place to sit & we got our drinks & were chatting & checking out the people around us. We were around the first 30 guests that were there and after our second drink _emma_ recognised Von without shades & showed me were she was looking. Yes it was definately him, he glanced up we waved & he came walking upto our table. Everyone shook hands & I offered him a drink (vodka of course) so went to get the drink. My opening line was “we are fans but don’t worry we don’t need a new album”  *shocked looks from the table* but then the laugh.

Von’s line “i’m only the singer of the band” he has worked in one of the other band members to take over things. He admitted he was lazy but when asked if he is thinking of retiring, he is not. Spoke about the weather he loves the heat so was enjoying the day. You see on a Friday at any festival in Belgium people are pissed around lunch time, so what’s not to love right?! Enjoys doing Belgium gigs because of the relaxed atmosphere always & I must admit, none of the bags were looked into at all which is different in other countries. We got to tell which of the Belgium gigs stuck out for us or the reasons & that was a good laugh too. Anyhoo we spoke about the hottest gigs he has experienced along the years (the surprise gig in Josheph’s Well stood out & one of the Helsinki gigs). He also hates the cold, tried living in Canada once but couldn’t handle it. Where he now has residences & indeed that he lived in Holland for a few years. We even spoke about experiences we all have at airports when you have to go through the metal detectors & you *BEEP* and why you are *BEEPING* Spoke about how he didn’t like England, not at all, and in his opion Scotland wins! Regarding medical system & schooling i think it was. Spoke about countries in the world & languages that are spoken and if you think you can’t speak a language but try reading it, you’ll be surprised how much you do actually know. He was also checking out the people on the terrain and by this time it had gotten much busier. I made the mistake of taking my camera out to take a photo of _emma_ & he said “that’s my que” and left. Sorry group, i should have known better, but we were very happy with what we had gotten!

After that well we carried on drinking and then started moving around a bit. Spotted loads of people with Sisters t-shirts on but no-one i recognised. Us four then had a bite to eat & more drinks and i went back to the merch stand & got the girlie t-shirt (f**k me and marry me young) as there were no hoddies brought with. i left with My Dominion to get dressed for the evening. Coming back, bumped into all you wonderful fans & you all know who you are, it was so great to see you all! The hugs and kisses were wonderful and sorry I didn’t speak to all of you for longer but by that time it was almost time to get to the stage!* (somewhere around this time I saw Ben in the crowd, surrounded by young ladies to ran up to him, gave him a kiss & told him I’d get him a drink after the gig, but didn’t see him again. Oh & I didn’t see Chris at all-in the crowds??) I was stood in the 3rd row behind Ozpat (thanks for the support when the crowd went mad!!!) Gig was brilliant, really enjoyed it all & the crowd was enjoying just as much with people singing along & Von sounded good, they all did!!! The mosh was hectic but one advantage of having lengthly hair that is wet with sweat that you can fling around to force people to keep just a bit of a distance. From what I could see on stage when i wasn’t dancing or being stuck between stinky big men that use their elbows next you, was that the boys were having fun. Sounded good. After the gig catching our breath, drinking water and chatting with Eva & Eggi (who are both glowing which is amazing to see!!) and all the other people I had a few words with, it was a good way to spend the early parts of Saturday morning! Thanks to Paul & Donna, for making & transporting a stunning cake for me, much appreciated & to all of you that are going to make the Utrecht gig, hope to catch up again then. Special thanks to Christophe for his hospitality & to My Dominion for the lift there! It was wonderful experience like it always is in Belgium!!!
